DIRECTOR’S BIO
Maria Ferreira’s practice explores the material nature of our world and how we connect with it through the lens of machines, questioning how images shape contemporary experience. She utilizes Art and Design as a lens to examine the peculiar visual patterns found across microscopic and macroscopic landscapes. Working with the meticulous collection and construction of imagery sourced from publicly available satellite databases and other unique scientific visualization techniques, her aim is to construct unfamiliar ways to see and interpret the world around us by blurring the line between the abstract and the physical.
