Nathan Truesdell is a documentary director/producer/cinematographer/editor based in Los Angeles, CA. He has over ten years of experience in the world of documentary filmmaking. He produced and shot short films such as David Wilson’s Big Birding Day (2010) and Jarred Alterman’s Dear Valued Guests (2013). Truesdell was also one of many cinematographers on AJ Schnack’s Speaking is Difficult which was in the shorts competition at Sundance 2016. He is a long time collaborator with AJ Schnack and produced and shot feature documentaries such as Schnack and Wilson’s We Always Lie to Strangers (2013), Schnack’s Convention, and Caucus in 2013. Truesdell was director of photography for the Al Jazeera America documentary series Midterms (2014). He recently shot Mia Donovan’s Deprogrammed (2015) and was a cinematographer and editor on Nick Berardini’s Killing Them Safely (2015) which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Truesdell is currently shooting AJ Schnack’s Primaries, Mia Donovan’s Healer Heal, and is shooting and directing The Art of Making Money for Field of Vision.
